“Something old and something new.” Tuyue 2024 A/W Collection
"'Something old' reflects the essence of Chaoshan, the designer's hometown, capturing childhood memories and traditional influences in its designs, from lanterns to flags. 'Something new' symbolises the modern era, merging the brand's modern Chinese aesthetic with sustainable practices like recycled fabric splicing, catering to contemporary habits and settings. This series blends nostalgia with innovation, proving that creativity is a harmonious mix of the past and present."
This skirt's silhouette falls between an H and a slightly narrower A shape, designed to flatter a variety of figures, particularly those with fuller hips or the appearance of wider hips. The front panel features selective jacquard detailing. Experimentation with various hues led to a preference for a clean, subdued green that subtly hints at Chinese design elements. Opting for a mineral-inspired brown enhances the garment's Chinese aesthetic, making it more pronounced.
