Spring Banquet Collection
Inspired by "The Lady's Living Room," this collection evokes the Republic of China era when intellectuals and artists would convene for vibrant afternoons of discussion. The hostess, distinguished by her brilliance and charm, captivated everyone with her talent and knowledge, becoming the focal point of admiration and the embodiment of aesthetic grace.
In contrast to Western tailoring, which often cuts fabric to prevent layering, traditional Chinese tailoring embraces a holistic method that aligns with the principle of harmony between nature and humanity. This top is made with a single fabric, requiring real silk for elegance. It wraps the body snugly, providing a comfortable fit and reflecting a distinct Chinese modesty.
This cheongsam design draws inspiration from a 1910 cheongsam that was on loan from a museum, reflecting the slender fashion of women's culture at that time, equivalent to today's size S. Upon trying it on, we found the lower body part to be revealing, prompting us to retain the original design for the upper body while thoughtfully expanding the size. The fabric is made of silk sateen, which has a certain thickness. The diagonal placket is trimmed with recycled fabric from our past collection, and the lining is printed in spring and summer.
